Wat Chetawan, also known as Wat Kaephueak or Wat Nangfa Kaephueak, is an ancient site with a unique art sculpture, the only one of its kind in Chiang Saen. It is believed to have been constructed around the year 2175 B.E. by Prince Sutthathammarama, a ruler during the Burmese occupation of Lanna and Chiang Saen.
Although it was under Burmese rule, the craftsmen who built the temple were likely Laotian or local Chiang Saen people influenced by the artistry of Lan Chang. Wat Chetawan has been registered as an archaeological site for the nation.
It was built by Prince Sutthathammarama to serve as a memorial for the Lao people who lost their lives. Despite being under Burmese ownership, the temple is a significant historical site for the nation.

วัดเชตวัน หรือวัดกาเผือก หรือวังนางฟ้ากาเผือกโบราณสถานเจดีย์รูปทรงศิลปะล้านช้างเเห่งเดียวในเมืองเชียงเเสน ที่คาดกันว่าถูกสถาปณาขึ้นในช่วงปี พ.ศ.2175 โดยเจ้าฟ้าสุทโธธรรมราชา (กษัตริย์อังวะ) ซึ่งอยู่ในช่วงที่พม่าปกครองล้านนาและเชียงแสน ถึงแม้จะเป็นของกษัตริย์พม่า แต่คาดว่ากลุ่มคนสร้างเป็นกลุ่มคนลาวหรือคนเชียงแสนที่ได้รับอิทธิพลศิลปะล้านช้าง วัดเชตวันยังได้ถูกขึ้นทะเบียนเป็นโบราณสถานสำหรับชาติอีกด้วย วัดเชตวันถูกสร้างขึ้นเนื่องจากเจ้าฟ้าสุทโธธรรมได้สร้างให้เป็นอนุสรณ์ถึงคนรักชาวลาวที่เสียชีวิตไป
