This ancient site, situated on a hill to the northwest of Chiang Saen.
Local legends suggest it was connected to the “Nikaya” or “Red Robe” Buddhist sect
that resided on Don Taen Island during the early 20th century.
The site features a rectangular moat surrounding various structures, including
a large-faced image believed to be the city’s largest.
It resembles the architecture of the ancient Wat Sri Chum in Sukhothai.
